MORPHO

Aay Liparoto presents an exhibition of ceramics and drawings in the Refectory (from the Latin refectorium, “a place one goes to be restored”), the project space of MORPHO adjacent to the monastery garden.

Drawing from classical forms, Liparoto’s ceramics become performative storytelling objects, vessels to contain potential for love without violence but also to acknowledge our own failings.

Aay Liparoto (1987, New Jersey, USA) was an artist in residence at MORPHO from September 2021 to January 2022. Their cinematic virtual reality installation Small Acts of Violence will premiere at Contour Biennale, Mechelen and ARGOS, Brussels in 2023.

Come and celebrate the last day of the Antwerp Art Weekend with a drink in the monastery garden, hosted by Kunsthal Extra City and Morpho.
This garden party also ceremoniously closes the exhibitions Made in X at Kunsthal Extra City and Aay Liparoto: Fictional Ceramics for Failed Relationships at Morpho's Refectory.
Join us between 17:00 and 23:00.
More info and DJ will follow.
